I had the privilege of learning about CoMet 3.0 Tropics, a research campaign led by the German Aerospace Center (DLR), under the leadership of Dr. Andreas Fix, focused on measuring and understanding greenhouse gases in the tropical atmosphere.

The Space Weather Workshop is an annual event organized by the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), in collaboration with institutions such as NASA, the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR).
Earlier this month, I had the honor of representing Centro Gestor e Operacional do Sistema de Proteção da Amazônia (Censipam) on an international mission in Germany. Among the many activities, I would like to highlight the technical visit to Zentrum für Telematik e.V. in Würzburg.

The CoMet 3.0 Workshop at the Universidade de São Paulo was a grate success and a major step forward for European-Brazilian science interactions.
Over two intensive days, researchers from DLR Institut für Physik der Atmosphäre (IPA), University of Bremen, MPI-BGC, European Space Agency – ESA, ATTO, CENSIPAM, and leading Brazilian universities came together to share the latest findings on greenhouse gas emissions, advance flight planning for the HALO research aircraft, and build the scientific foundation for the upcoming CoMet 3.0 airborne campaign 2026 in Brazil.
The CoMet 3.0 campaign is about more than measurements. It’s about forging a lasting partnership between Europe and Brazil to better understand grenhouse gas fluxes and drivers in tropical regions such as in Brazil.

I had a fantastic visit to EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. It was an amazing experience to see the control room where they manage the Metop and Sentinel satellites. I also got to explore the exhibition featuring full-scale models of these satellites, which made the visit even more impressive and memorable.
The special edition of the Journal of Security, Development, and Defense for COP30 Brazil has published my article “The sovereign and sustainable management of the Amazon: Challenges and Perspectives,” highlighting the dissemination of the operational activities of the Center for the Management and Operation of the Amazon Protection System (Censipam) in the Legal Amazon.
